THE agent for Mel Stride, the MP for Central Devon, is to run the London Marathon in aid of charity on April 26.

Mike Knuckey is also running in the London Landmarks Half Marathon on March 29 and has just signed up to do the Ride London-Surrey 100 (100-mile bike ride) on August 16.

Having lived a sedentary lifestyle for many years, when it comes to exercise Mike, who started his training in October aged 65, said it is turning out to be an incredible journey but a big challenge.

With someone developing dementia every three minutes, dementia is set to be the UK’s biggest killer, and he has therefore chosen to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Society.
