FOLLOWING a couple of unproductive days, local angler Mark Piper’s luck changed when he landed a nice specimen common at Creedy Lakes, Crediton, which tipped the scales at 23lbs 4oz - a fabulous result for him.

Sandford angler, Steve Tancock, also hooked a nice common when he chose to fish from the far bank. Fishing from the mid swim and casting out into open water on the higher side of the island he landed a lovely scale-perfect common which was just shy of the 20lbs mark when it registered 19lbs 10oz.

Still a great day’s sport and well worth the trek over to the far bank.

Alvin King of Crediton had his best day’s angling yet at Creedy when he visited last week. After coming for a couple of sessions and finding the going a bit tough, his luck changed and he tempted out a nice 20lbs 8oz specimen common.

On his next visit however, his luck increased even more.  Fishing on the left bank he managed to tempt out a nice pair of double figured commons best of 17lbs 8oz and then he went on to hook a lovely specimen mirror carp tipping the scales to 20lbs 12oz.

Finally, Crediton angler Peter Huda landed a nice 18lbs 5oz specimen common when he fished half way up on the left bank.
