A CREDITON Police Community Support Officer is running The Great West Run in Exeter on Sunday, October 18, to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT), in memory of her nephew Samuel Crocker.

Samuel was knocked over in a “hit-and-run” on February 28 in Crediton.

A Devon Air Ambulance quickly arrived and transported him to hospital.

Despite the fast and professional service from DAAT, Samuel passed away later that evening at the young age of 10.

Lisa explained: “I was also the first police officer to arrive at the scene - it was the worst call of my life.

“I could never have imagined the events that unfolded.

“The services that attended were outstanding and they all did their very best for little ‘Moley’.

“I have found running an amazing stress release and somewhat addictive.

“I decided that entering The Great West Run would not only be a massive personal challenge/achievement but it would also double as my therapy.”

Lisa added: “Choosing my charity wasn’t difficult as Samuel was given the best possible chance and I would like to show my appreciation to the DAAT by raising as much as possible to aid them in continuing the outstanding work they do.”

To date, Lisa has raised £658 for Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
