CREDDY Club, the rugby based Holiday Club is back for the Easter Holidays.

Trialled last October the non-contact, skills and activities focussed group received some great feedback from the parents of those that attended which spurred the organisers to return again with their philosophy of keeping kids physically active and enjoying themselves safely.

With tweaks to the format, Creddy Club now delivers to two differing age groups; Creddy Club Cubs for 6 to 8-year-olds and Creddy Club Pups for 9 to 11-year-olds.

The younger Cubs will have two-day sessions and the older pups will have three-day sessions with all sessions running from 10am to 3pm.

There are two sets of sessions being offered during the Easter Break - Monday and Tuesday, April 11 and 12 (with Wednesday 13 being the extra day for the Pups).

Then, at the end of the two week school holiday, the Pups start their three-day stint on Wednesday April 20 and are joined by the Cubs for their two-days on Thursday April 21.

What’s on offer for those that attend however will stay the same.

A fun mixture of games, skills and activities that the children in October loved. And the proof being that return bookings are already being made.

To ensure that as many children are as active as possible each group is limited to 16 and each group has a lead coach and an assistant coach with both lead coaches First Aid qualified and all coaches having RFU DBS Certificates.

Both leads have coached junior rugby for more than 10 years combined with the assistants having regularly played the game.

And the lead coaches both share the same outlook, keen to keep the children moving, saying “all of the games are designed primarily to keep the children moving and in addition they will gain greater co-ordination, dexterity, spacial awareness, social skills and self confidence”.

They continued: “Whilst rugby forms the basis of what we are doing, children that have played any sport will benefit from our programme.

“If you think that Rugby is all about the rough and tough tackles and contact then Creddy Club will show that there’s more to it than that.

“Hand eye co-ordination, speed and decision making all come to the fore.”

And it’s not just a boy thing.

In a town with a rugby club that boasts around 80 girls in its junior section and an ever successful Woman’s team, Creddy Club not only welcomes girls but encourages them to come along and join in the fun.

If you want your child outdoors, active and coming home with a smile Creddy Club will deliver for you.

Bookings are being taken now for the limited number of spaces available. You can find them on Facebook, by searching Creddy Club or email:[email protected] .
