BILLY Edgecombe from Crediton, who attends Queen Elizabeth’s School, recently won the South West Championships, for his age group, at Mansell Raceway near Honiton, the Kart track owned by 1992 F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell.

Billy (13), found his form just in time for the biggest race weekend of the year at the Devon track.

The event was decided by scoring points in four races. He won two of three heats and finished third in the other. He then went on to win the final.
