CREDITON Youth FC U15s started their season with a midweek County Cup home fixture against last season’s winners Topsham Town.
It was two apiece at half time, but the holders eventually came out on top with two late goals to run out 4-2 winners.
Goals from Ben Betts and Joseph Burwood capped a fine performance that the Creddy lads can be proud of.
It was league action for the U14s on Saturday, September 24, with a 4-2 win over Central Hawks. With a hat-trick from Rhys Ebdy and a goal from Zach Mildon.
Sunday saw them away at Exeter Panthers in the County Cup with one of those results which you don’t really want to mention in youth football. Amongst the goal scorers seeing them through to the next round were Alex Crosbie, Bobby Deam, Harry Norman, Hayden Leach, Isaac Hillier, Rhys Ebdy, Ollie Baker, Oliver Webber and Zach Mildon.
The U12s were away at Moors Youth and were edged out 2-1 by the Tiverton side. Will Matten was on target for Crediton.
It was the start of the league campaign for the U11s. Jayden Saunders with a brace, and further goals from Daniel Southall, Isaac Heal and Josh Stansfield saw them make a great start with a 5-0 win over Heavitree Wolves.
The U14 girls also had a convincing win against Twyford at Lords Meadow. Double strikes from Amelia Duffin, Amy Lockyer and Evie Lewis with further goals from Chloe Curtis, Evie Greswell and Ruby Turner saw them get back to winning ways.
It ended all square at two apiece for the U12 girls away at Central. On target for the Crediton girls were Gracie Clements and Ellen Beswick.
