MONDAY, April 8 saw Downes Crediton Golf Club Seniors play the John Baird trophy and it was Graham Jones who came out on top with a superb score of 39 points to win the trophy and Division Two prizes.

He was closely followed by Nick Bromell who also scored 39 points but was beaten by a better back nine but did take the Division One top spot while Jim Dunlop finished second in Division One with a score of 38 points and Robert Dobson finished second in Division Two with a score of 33 points.

Tracey Chandler continued her fine form with another victory in the Ladies County Stableford Two on Tuesday, April 9 with a great score of 32 points which included a hole-in-one on the third hole.

It was Ying Wong who finished second in Division One with a score of 27 points while in Division Two it was Diane Botterill who took that prize with a score of 32 points beating Sue Barr who scored 26 points to finish second.

Ashley Cross won the stableford competition on Wednesday, April 10 with a score of 37 points.

In the first of our mens medal on Saturday, April 13, with conditions being tough, Paul Hayward stole the show shooting a nett 68 (two under) to win this year’s Cody Medal and Division Two prizes.

He was followed by Peter Russell who scored a nett 71 while in Division One it was Ashley Cross who came out on top with a nett 70 beating Tristan Kershaw who also scored a nett 70 but lost to a better back nine.

In Division Three it was Chris Bowen with a nett 77 who beat John Rance who scored nett 79 to win Division Three.

Fran Shrubsole won the Ladies Division while Oliver Greenslade won the scratch prize.

On Sunday, April 14 it was Neil Maddocks who won the stableford with a great score of 38 points.
