WEDNESDAY, April 5 saw the first Mid Week Stableford of the season played at Downes Crediton Golf Club and Mark Clements took the overall victory scoring 39 points.

Jim Dunlop followed in second place, scoring 36 points, beating Scott Singleton (36 pts) into third with a better back nine.

Downes ladies played their County Stableford One on Thursday, April 6 and last year’s Ladies’ Captain, Liz Mapson, put together a fine 38 points to take the win.

This year’s Ladies’ Captain, Shirley Stunell, posted 36 points to take second whilst Tracey Chandler scored 34 points to finish third.

Paul Sandercock scored 38 points in the Club Stableford, played on a beautiful sunny day (Saturday, April 9) to take a fine win by a single point.

Matt Redstone followed in second, posting 37 points, whilst Steve Blackmore and Shaun Moore both scored 36 points to finish third and fourth respectively.

One of the highlights of the day though belonged to Alan Draper who scored a hole-in-one on the 152 yard par 3 11th holing a beautiful seven iron shot.
