A CREDITON woman has returned from the Special Olympics GB National Games held at Sheffield with not one but two medals.
Dee Weiner (23), won not only a gold medal but also a silver medal competing in badminton, the silver with her doubles partner Nicky Welch.
Dee said she was “thrilled” to receive two medals.
The Games, from August 7-12, was the country’s largest multi-sports event for athletes with intellectual disabilities to be held in 2017.
Around 2,600 athletes with intellectual disabilities of all ages and abilities from across the country took part.
They were supported by 800 coaches, 1,000 volunteers, 200 officials and more than 7,000 family and friends.
Dee is a member of Crediton’s Queens Badminton Club and is the club’s special needs representative.
