IF you are looking for ways to keep your children or yourself active this winter, even when it’s too wet and cold to go outside, why not “have-a-go” at playing squash?
Squash is a fun and fast-moving racket game, played on an indoor court, which teaches loads of useful skills while getting fit.
It is known as “the world’s healthiest sport” as no other sport burns as many calories in a 40 minute game.
It can be played by anyone, at any time of year.
Kirton Youth Squash Club runs coaching sessions for children every Saturday morning during term-time from 10am to 11.30am at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton.
The club is offering a free taster session to any child aged seven upwards who wants to have-a-go.
No special equipment is required, the club provides all the necessary equipment, it just advises wearing comfortable clothes and clean trainers.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Whether your child is sporty or has never played any sport at all, squash is guaranteed to get them moving.”
If you want to know more, or to book a free taster session, please contact Sarah Benyon on 01363 866231, Clive Hetherington on 07989 407575 or Clive Marais on 07825 701902. Please note there is no session tomorrow, February 18.
