EXETER and Tedburn Rangers women’s football team were to play their first SSE Women’s FA Cup Qualifying match at Barley Park, Tedburn St Mary, on Sunday, August 26, but this has been cancelled due to the opponents, Forest Green Rovers, withdrawing from the competition.

Exeter and Tedburn Rangers, whose main sponsor is the King’s Arms, Tedburn St Mary, rose to South West Women’s Regional League status a few seasons ago, and consists principally of young up and coming players developed from youth football.

The Exeter and Tedburn team continue to struggle finding an experienced goalkeeper, having been playing an outfield player "between the sticks" for the last two seasons.

It also hopes to inspire more local young players to not only take up the game (in all positions) with Exeter and Tedburn Rangers.

On Sunday, September 2, Exeter and Tedburn Rangers have been drawn away against Marine Academy Plymouth.

Tedburn St Mary Football Club was recently awarded a #RetaintheGame grant from the FA and the Football Foundation.

This money, £750, will help us secure the long-term future of our football club with the provision of new goals for our main-pitch at Barley Park, Tedburn St Mary.

Tedburn’s senior men’s teams play in Division Three and Eight of the Devon and Exeter League, and these and the Women’s team, are keen to attract more players of all standards.
