A CREDITON man was recently awarded the prestigious award of Devon Football Association Coach of the Year.

Sean Hartrey, from Crediton Youth FC, was selected from a record number of candidates from across the county.

He received numerous nominations from parents across the Crediton Youth girls sides.

Sean has been instrumental in the growth and success of the girls section at the club, during the past few seasons.

He was also behind the club successfully gaining its SSE Wild Cats accreditation to run as a development centre for girls from five-to-11-years-old.

Including the Wild Cats, Crediton AFC now has around 100 girls actively taking part in football.
