CREDITON Youth Football Club Presentations were, once again, held on the main pitch at Lords Meadow.

The presentations were split into three sections for the juniors, seniors and girls sections.

Club Chairman Adrian Harvey welcomed everyone on a sunny afternoon and gave a brief run down of last season. Overall it had been an excellent season, and probably, result-wise, the most successful for many years with many of the clubs sides finishing the season as runners-up in their respective leagues, and also some great cup runs too.

More importantly the club had provided football for more than 270 local boys and girls between the age of six and 18.

The development project on the pitches was ongoing and progressing well, and the new perimeter fence had been completed.

Once again the annual tournament had been a major success with lots of positive feedback from visiting sides.

The club had once again run a visit for most age groups.

These included two Premier league visits to Southampton FC and also match day experiences at Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle.

Crediton Youth FC was again pleased to sponsor two local players, Harry Kite at Exeter City and Jess Sandland at Exeter City ladies. The club had also sponsored four players to complete the referee’s course.

Adrian thanked all of the committee, grounds team and coaches for all their hard work during the season and all the players and their parents for their support.

The Chairman’s award went to Jim Southall for his overall contribution as club secretary, tournament programme editor and his work with the U11’s.

Matt Norman presented the Vice Chairman’s award to Andre Pike for his outstanding work as part of the grounds team and his contribution to the U18’s team.

Long service awards were presented to Adrian Harvey and Steve Lethbridge for their excellent years of service to the U16 team. Martin Daniel thanked them for their years of service to the side and getting them all the way through to U16’s.

Adrian Harvey presented Richard and Sabrena Philp jointly with the Club Person of the year award for their amazing contribution to the overall running of the club.

Sabrena then turned the tables on Adrian by unexpectedly presenting him with an additional Club Person award for all his dedication and passion as Club Chairman.

Simon Stevens presented the Roche Cup for the best overall achievement/contribution by an age group to the U12’s. They not only finished the season as league runners-up, they also won the EDYL (East Devon Youth Football League) league cup, which is a major achievement for a division two side.
