A DONATION from a local surf company is enabling Crediton and District Swimming Club to purchase essential training equipment.

Circle One has donated £150 to the Club which will be used to purchase equipment to enable improvement in the quality of training. A waterproof video camera will be purchased and used to record swimmers’ performances in the water, and provide instant feedback on how to improve swimming technique.

Based at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, the club provides a year-round programme of training sessions designed for swimmers at all stages of development.

This includes a broad range of competition levels from team league competitions, to individual events, inter-club championships, open meets, to county, regional and national competition.

Members range in age from primary and secondary school age through to master adults. The club also welcomes children and adults with disabilities and long-term health problems. Head Coach, Jane Brimacombe is the Devon contact for National Disability standard swimmers.

The club also has a lifesaving section training swimmers in Bronze Medallion and National Pool Lifeguard qualifications and has been awarded Swim 21 Accreditation.

This quality mark recognises regional and national commitment to providing safe, effective services focusing on enabling athletes, coaches and administrators to thrive in the best possible environment.
