H T DONS 0- SPREYTON 6

SPREYTON started this game on Tuesday, May 1 very shakily with a few early chances for the Dons to take the lead.

After 10 minutes or so the dust had settled and Spreyton started to get into the game when Liam Ward got himself into a fantastic position to flick the ball over the ‘keeper with a perfectly weighted header - 1-0 Spreyton.

After 15 minutes following the re-start Chris Down found himself free in the box and with a perfect cross found him to flick past the ‘keeper - 2-0 Spreyton.

The game seemed a little more even than the scoreline at this point with Tim Cockman having to make some key saves, before up pops Cameron Pow chasing a ball over the Dons defence to blast past the ‘keeper making it 3-0 within half-an-hour to Spreyton.

With minutes left of the first half Chris Down chased down an almost dead ball on the right-hand of the pitch to flick the ball on the edge of the box for the ball to bounce once and Liam Ward put his foot right through a half volley to make it 4-0 at half-time.

Spreyton continued to dominate in the second half and the Dons were caught again with the ball over the defence for Chris Down to finish perfectly for his brace and 39th goal of the season!

With 10 minutes to go Luke Honeychurch made a fantastic run from the half-way line into the left-hand side of the Dons box to then slot the ball over to Cameron Pow to complete the scoring for the evening - 6-0.

A great game for the Spreys who are currently in great momentum for the remaining games!

We continue on Saturday, May 5 at home against Exeter United.

Let’s hope we can continue the winning run of eight games!
