CREDITON Youth FC fixtures for the last week started and finished with County Cup ties.
The Under 14’s took on Bovey Tracy under floodlights at Lords Meadow on Wednesday evening (October 27). Goals from Alex Dredge, Ben Betts, Jack Brimilcombe and Joe Hopkins helped them to a 4-2 victory.
Sunday saw the Under 13’s beat Barnstaple Town 12-0 in their tie. Zach Mildon leading the scoring with three, Ben Fantham, Hayden Leach, Rhys Ebdy and Ollie Shorey all getting doubles with Alex Crosbie completing the scoring.
Saturday, October 30 saw the Under 10’s return from Dawlish Youth with two victories. Amongst their goal scorers were Casey Philp, Daniel Southall, Oliver Brimilcombe and Oliver Wilk.
It was another fine morning for the Under 12’s at home to Heavitree Pumas. Goals from Jake Shepherd, Billy Dymond, Jake Stagg, Seb Roche and Jake Tapp took them to an 8-0 victory.
Another tough game for the Under 14’s saw them eventually edged out 4-2 away at Alphington. Alex Dredge and Joe Hopkins on target again for them.
Waterlogged pitches saw the Under 15’s fixture away at Moors and the Under 11’s fixture away at Broadclyst get postponed. The Under 16’s were due to play Colyton at home, but the opposition elected not to travel.
It was another win for the Under 11 Girls at home to Buckland on Sunday. Their goals coming through a Gracie Clements hat-trick and two from Lexi Mullen and a Helena Sylla strike.
Player of the match was Eve Broome, with a special mention to Grace Pugsley, who impressed on her debut with her work rate and fearless tackling.
Unfortunately the Under 13 girls will have to try again next week, as their County Cup tie against Plymouth Aspire was also postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
