CREDITON Girls Youth Football Club has joined Yeovil Town Ladies FC’s sister club programme, as a silver club.
It is now only the second club in Devon to be signed up to the programme.
Ellie Curson, who is the programme officer for the FA Women’s Super League sister club programme at Yeovil said: “Having Crediton Youth FC as one of our sister clubs is really exciting, as they are a very proactive club.
“We have some really good initiatives planned which everyone at Yeovil Town Ladies FC will relish being involved in."
Being a silver sister club, means that Crediton Youth FC will have access to free tickets to home matches at Huish Park, player appearances, coaching sessions, mascot opportunities, tournaments, camps plus more.
Another important factor is that Yeovil Town Ladies will be inviting Crediton Youth FC coaches to an open training session, where they will have the opportunity to see how FA WSL coaching staff operate in the elite environment of the women’s game, which is exclusive to only sister clubs signed up to the programme.
Through the sister club programme, Yeovil Town Ladies FC will support the club in other ways, with one of the main emphasis on retention and growth of players within their club.
Sean Hartrey, from Crediton Youth FC, said: "This is big news for our girls side of the club! Exciting times!
"Yeovil players will be in Crediton soon taking some training sessions and player personal appearances will also be planned."
Crediton Youth is already a large club with in excess of 160 players from ages seven to 18 years-of-age.
