AFTER a postponement last Saturday due to bad weather it was back to the league programme for Sandford Football Club with a visit to Bradninch.

From the kick off the home side had the first attempt at goal but nothing came of it.

Then Sandford came to life with Jayden shooting over after one minute and Tudor going wide after two minutes.

The game then moved to the other end with Sandford keeper Headley making a good save to keep the visitors level.

Sandford then went on the attack and were awarded a free kick just outside the box.

Captain Sam Reeves took the kick which unfortunately hit the Bradninch wall and was cleared.

Then on the 12th minute Sandford opened their account with Jayden hitting the ball into the corner of the Bradninch goal, 0-1.

The game flowed back and forward with keeper Headley making several saves keeping Sandford’s lead intact.

On 17 minutes right winger Tudor again shot wide and a minute later midfielder Ryan Trump suffered a bleeding nose in a collision with an opposition player, thankfully he was able to continue.

On 36 minutes Sandford increased their lead with Jayden again on target, 0-2.

Sandford winger Josh Saunders was causing problems for the home defence unfortunately without scoring.

On the 37th minute Jayden popped up to complete his hatrick, 0-3, that was the score at halftime.

The second half started with Sandford beginning to take command of the game and on 61 minutes made their first substitutions.

This gave the “ford" fresh legs with Rowan Bosacki coming on up front to replace Jayden John Mark who fully deserved a rest.

In between, Bradninch on a rare visit into the Sandford half managed to score,1-3.

“Ford" kept pressing with the home side visibly tiring but it wasn't until the 89th minute Shaun Stapleton produced a cracking shot which left the home keeper stranded, 1-4.

In the dying seconds of the match right winger Josh Saunders got his reward for all his hard work by scoring Sandford’s fifth and final goal of the game. Full-time score Bradninch 1, Sandford 5. Well done to all the squad and great win.

Next Saturday Sandford are at home to Otterton, KO 2.15pm.
