CREDITON United ladies recently played their DWFL North & East divisions regional final against Braunton ladies held at Feniton FC.
They delivered a determined and disciplined performance.
Crediton started brightly and showed their intent from the first whistle. Their early pressure was rewarded after 12 minutes when captain Maddie Taylor found the net with a well taken strike from just inside the penalty box.
The advantage was doubled when Erica Guppy rose to meet a corner and buried a header to make it 2-0.
Crediton continued to push forward looking for the third goal, with Sophie Young unlucky not to get her name on the scoresheet with a couple of goal attempts.
Braunton had the chance to respond from the penalty spot, but Lily Tomkins produced an outstanding save to keep Crediton two goals ahead.
The opposition did manage to pull one back shortly afterwards with a well taken effort. But the Crediton ladies held their lead going into the break.

In the second half, despite some early Braunton pressure, Crediton continued to push forward to find that decisive moment.
That moment came when Maddie Taylor won a penalty and then stepped up to convert it, restoring the two goal cushion and making it 3-1.
As the match drew to a close in fading light, the Crediton ladies saw the game out with huge determination.
It was a proud moment for the Crediton coaches when Maddie Taylor was presented with the cup.
Many of the players had progressed from the clubs youth section and it was very fitting that they were joined by members of the Under 9’s girls team who were the players mascots.
The players would like to thank all those that made their way to support them on the evening.
