CREDITON UNITED 0 - AXMINSTER 0
CREDITON hosted Axminster Town to round off their home season on Wednesday, May 3, which saw a couple of changes made from Bank Holiday Monday game, with McCann and Cooke dropping out and being replaced by Conabeare and Bilcock.
Both teams were intent on playing short passing football from the off and made for an enjoyable spectacle. The first chance of the game fell to Blake but his much favoured chip was over the top.
The tigers were playing good football and got the ball into good areas but were always snuffed out. Their best chance fell to Tony Pinder but his low strike from 12 yards was comfortably saved.
The second half saw the same pattern but with the visitors slightly getting on top.
Special mention to Dave Lee who had a 97 per cent success rate with his defensive headers in the match. Bilcock was adding a calm insurance to the midfield with his excellent ball retention.
For all the good short passing chances were at an absolute premium with neither ‘keeper being seriously tested. The best chance of the game fell to Axminster on 92 minutes, but a header from 12 yards just drifted past the far post. That wraps up the home season for us and in the League we have taken 23 points from a possible 51.

TEIGNMOUTH 5 - CREDITON UNITED 2
CREDITON rounded off their season on Saturday, May 7 away to Teignmouth who went on to clinch second place with a dominant performance.
Creddy looked like they were already on their holidays as Teignmouth were quicker all over the pitch, creating chances at will and with Creddy misplacing nearly all their passes in the first half.
For all their dominance the score was just 2-0 at the break.
The same pattern followed in the second half with Teignmouth stretching their lead to 5-0 on the 70 minute mark.
From here Teignmouth made the decision to put their back four and goalkeeper up front and put their strikers into defence.
This then gave Creddy multiple chances and substitute Ben Bristowe helped himself to two quick goals and had a hat-trick goal not given when it looked like it crossed the line.
These late goals gave a little respectability to the scoreline but Creddy were never at the races in this game.
