DOWNES Crediton Golf Club Seniors played a three player team medal one to count on Monday, November 30 which saw some good scoring across the field. 

Winning with a superb nine under par nett 61 were the trio of Bob Dobson, Peter Russell and Joe Hull. This was good enough to see off two chasing teams by a single point with Peter Evans, Jim Kenshole and Kevin Woolacott (nett 62) finishing second beating Frank Greenwood, Colin Wheatcroft and Richard Wilson into third with a superior back nine holes.

The Ladies played their nine hole three clubs and a putter individual stableford prior to their Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 3. 

As always, even though they had limited clubs to use, the scoring was good with Ying Wong taking the honours, scoring 20 points. Second was Lyn Parry with 18 points with Ros McIntyre following on in third with 19.

Saturday, December 5 saw all sections of the Club take part in a Team Texas Scramble starting with a 9am Shotgun start. 

The result was a close run affair with four teams returning nett 67’s meaning the result had to be decided with a countback. 

Winning were the team of Simon Baker, Adrian Cram and Graham Browne followed in second place by Shaun Cross, Jack Cross and John Cross with Peter Yendell, Mike White and Dan joint third. 

After the golf the clubhouse was packed with more than 100 members for the presentation of the Christmas competitions from the previous three weeks. Winners received their prizes and a fun time was had by all!
