FISHING form has been better than expected at Creedy Lakes Fishery in Crediton, with some cracking catches and also some super sized bags, especially for this time of year.

James Sanford of Tedburn St Mary had a great result to the start of his season when he tempted and hooked three nice sized specimen commons.  Topping his bag was a very clean common scaling 20lbs 4oz and accompanied by one of 18lbs 4oz and a 15lbs 6oz.

His mate Rob Bradley hooked a nice common weighing 16lbs 8oz.

Crediton angler Alvin King fished three-quarters of the way up on the right-hand bank and had a very pleasing result landing four fish, all commons. 

His catches included a 20lbs, 19lbs, 15lbs and one scaling 13lbs.
