GOOD fishing form has continued at Creedy Lakes, Crediton, during the last few weeks with the fish being very active.

Best fish for the fortnight was recorded by Okehampton angler Brian Welham who banked three big specimens, all commons, weighing 20lbs 1oz, 22lbs 13oz and topping his bag was a nice 24lbs 13oz common – heaviest for the fortnight.

Crediton angler Simon Stevens hooked a cracking mirror specimen which tipped the scales to 24lbs exactly which was largest mirror for the week. Simon managed to tempt out four fish with the other three being commons weighing 15lbs 3oz, 17lbs 12oz and 20lbs.

Budding angler Tyler Strong, who is aged just seven-years-old, was fishing three-quarters of the way up on the left bank caught his first fish of the day which scaled 16lbs 8oz before going on to have an incredible session landing two PB catches within an hour of each other and ended the day with an impressive bag of 10 fish.

Tyler was under guidance from his dad, Dan, and even used his boilies.

His catches of nine double figured commons were topped with a 21lbs 14oz and one of 21lbs 12oz being his two PB’s. A fantastic result for such an enthusiastic young angler and very well-deserved.

Rob Bradley of Tedburn St Mary had some great sport whilst fishing up the left-hand bank of the main lake and his catches included 12 commons all between 15 to 18lbs in weight, one small tench and a pair of green tench all taken on the bottom.

Crediton angler Mick Youles had a 12 fish bag with 10 commons with his top two fish weighing 16lbs 7oz and 16lbs 2oz along with a pair of tench.

New Buildings angler, Steve Tancock, enjoyed some nice sport banking a mixed four-fish bag including one single figure mirror and three commons best of 17lbs 4oz.

Crediton’s Graham Fursman fished the left bank and recorded five commons all roughly about the same weights of between 15 to 16lbs.
