CHAGFORD 1 - SPREYTON 5

A FIRST half Chris Down hat-trick helped down a tough Chagford away from home on Monday, April 16.

Spreyton started well and Chris Down ran clear to smash high into the net. A second goal came shortly after as Chris curled the ball high into the top left-hand corner for 2-0.

Charlie Caddie’s persistence paid off as he skipped through three challenges and then slotted a great finish into the bottom corner.

A penalty followed shortly after and Chris Down stepped up and slotted the ball into the bottom corner for his hat-trick. A defensive lapse saw Chagford pull one back between the Caddie goal and penalty.

Spreyton managed the game superbly in the second half and came close a few times before a Matt Baker half volley made it 5-1 at full-time.

A commanding defensive performance and great offensive play. A rest at last for Spreyton with the next game taking place on Sunday, April 22, but it is good to have four wins from four in eight days.
