LAPFORD Football Club’s first team played at home to Hatherleigh with a fantastic victory of 15-0.

It took the team about 20 minutes to score the first goal but then the floodgates opened with three goals in five minutes, making it 8 - 0 by half time.

The second half produced seven more goals.

The 15 goals were scored by seven players - two players scored four goals a piece, one was Chris Burrows (Buzz) the goalkeeper, now a goal scoring forward.

I think the rest of the division will be taking notice.

Now the Lapford record stands at four wins out of four and 25 goals for with two against, so the goal difference is now plus 23, putting Lapford in top position, followed by Thorverton in second and Chagford in third. Lapford remain unbeaten at home for more than a year.

The reserves played away against Bickleigh losing 4 - 1.

Tomorrow (Saturday, October 17) the first team will play away at Alphington with a 3pm kick-off and the reserves will play at home to Bow reserves with a 3pm kick-off.

Many thanks to all the hardcore supporters and good luck to all.
