IT was a busy night on Thursday, May 5, at Lords Meadow playing fields for Crediton Youth FC.

Prior to the evening’s fixtures the club welcomed Harry Kite from Exeter City, who came down to meet and talk to the players.

Crediton Youth FC has sponsored Harry’s home shirt this season.

Also down at the pitches that evening was ex Crediton Youth player Jess Sandland. The club has also proudly sponsored Jess this season at Exeter City ladies.

The U14’s completed their season that evening with a 3-3 draw against Twyford Spartans. Two goals from Ben Betts and a Joe Hopkins penalty saw them share the points.

Also at home were the U15’s who won their game against Exmouth Town 3-1. Goals from Harry Welsh, Owen Jones and Ryan Sandland securing another three points for them.

Also that evening the club eventually managed to catch up with Liam Tucker and present him with the James Uren award for the best young referee to officiate at youth fixtures at Lords Meadow for the 2020-21 season.

Saturday, May 7 saw the U8’s host Copplestone and Heavitree Youth. Three wins and a draw for them. Player of the matches went to Noah Pugsley and Reuben Beck.

The U10’s were away at Bradninch and had four good wins. Amongst the goalscorers were Archie Crosbie, Casey Philp, Daniel Southall, Freddie Peake, Jayden Saunders, Josh S, Oliver Brimilcombe and Ryan Ebdy.

It was another fine result for the U11’s at home to Central Youth Athletic. Hayden Richardson Miller, Ethan Moore, Jac Caruana, Will Hopkins and Will Matten all amongst their goalscorers.

It was a busy week for the U12’s who completed their season with three victories to see them remain unbeaten with maximum points in the league.

Two midweek 3-0 wins against Twyford Spartans and Heavitree Youth with goals coming from Billy Dymond, Jake Stagg and Seb Roche set them up nicely for their final game on Saturday against Exmouth United.

Double strikes from Billy Dymond, Jake Stagg and Seb Roche saw them finish with a 6-3 victory.

The U13’s secured a third place league finish with a 10-0 home win against Exeter Panthers. Rhys Ebdy leading the goal scoring with six, Hayden Leach with a hat-trick and Harry Norman completed the tally.

They also had a 5-1 midweek win away at Heavitree United Youth. Ollie Baker and Zach Mildon both with doubles and Rhys Edby getting the goals.

The U15’s came away from Culm Sampford Cheetahs with a 3-1 win courtesy of goals from Eli Tanner, Henry Brazier Armin and Owen Jones.

Sunday saw the long awaited Crediboo Rising Stars tournament at Lords Meadow for the U9’s.

The Crediton Youth U9 coaches organised this friendly mini tournament which had visiting sides from Bovey Tracy, Brixham, Dawlish, Ogwell and Whipton plus two Crediton sides. Once again, everyone involved should be congratulated on putting on such a great morning of football.

It was the Devon Girls League cup final day at Tiverton Town FC. Crediton Youth U9 girls took part in the tournament for their age group. Their coaches were really pleased to get through to the semi finals, but unfortunately, went out on penalties to Twyford Spartans.

The U11 girls had a convincing win over Newton Fire with Gracie Clements, Gracie Pugsley, Lexi Mullen, Ellen Beswick, Lucy Budd and Eva amongst the goal scorers.
