CREDITON Youth FC U18s recently held their end-of-season presentation event at Downes golf course.

Club Chairman Dennis Cavanagh opened the evening and thanked Scott Brimilcombe and Fred Tonkins for running the side last season. He also took the opportunity to congratulate Scott on his achievement of running the side from Under 7s through to Under 18s and all the excellent years of service and support he had given the club.

Scott then gave an emotional speech about his time with the club and his memories of taking the side all the way through that journey. He also took the opportunity to thank many past and present officers and committee members for all their support.

The presentation of the awards then followed. Hayden Leach took both the Players’ Player and Supporters’ Player. Ben Betts took the Top Goal Scorer award with Jake Tapp taking the Young Player award. The final award the Coaches’ Player of the Season also went to Hayden Leach.

Five players were awarded framed match shirts to commemorate their continued service all the way through Crediton Youth from U7-U18. Alfie Poole, Alex Dredge, Ben Betts, Jack Brimilcombe and Joe Hopkins were all part of the club’s first ever U7 side.

The final presentation of the evening saw Dennis Cavanagh present Scott with a framed shirt and award in recognition of all his dedication and service to the club.
