Represented by David Taylor, Fran Shrubsole, Quintin Payne-Cook and Elizabeth Mapson, the Downes team won through to a regional qualifier at Woodbury Park Golf Club and will take part in the final of the English Club Team Championship on Monday, August 8 during England Golf Week at Frilford Heath Golf Club, in Oxfordshire.
The other five teams through are from Bovey Tracey, Woodbury Park, Fingle Glen, Teignmouth and Torquay.
They will meet qualifiers from three other regional events at the national final. It will be a feature of Golf Week, staged by England Golf to create a national grand finale for a host of handicap and team championships.
