IN his first year as President of Crediton United Football Club, Dave Blanchford has given the following up-date on goings on at the club.
Dave says: “The First team under Matt Trenaman is doing ok, keep it up lads. The Seconds, under Danny Harvey, keep going. They have won six out of six - very good squad who never let up.
“Chris (Gillard) and I have at last got the new flood lights up and on. Chris has been on the paperwork for more than 15 months so hats off to him.
“Me, I got asked to raise over 30 per cent share from our local firms which I am very pleased to report. Thank you to all. It would not be done without the goodwill of the people of Crediton.
“Myself and Dave Lee, captain of the first team, organised a 10k sponsored walk to raise money for our club. We must have got over 30 able-bodies on board but for some reason or another the two dates we gave them were wrong, so I am hoping whilst I am away on my holidays it will be completed.
“The eight of us that completed the walk raised to-date £1,230 so thank you to all of them for giving their time and thanks to all who sponsored us.
“We have our club AGM on Thursday, October 17, please support our club and have your say. We must pull together.
“I saw our old lights go up 27 years ago, this new lot was Chris’ baby. We are the only two with more than 50 years in the club and on the committee.
“Thank you.”
