THE Crediton U11’s hosted Cranbrook in the final of the Cranbrook Champions League Cup, this being a mini league that has been run throughout the season between eight teams from the Exeter area.

Crediton started well and had the majority of possession in the first 20 minutes.

After several missed chances, Hayden Richardson-Miller owned the scoring for Crediton, after some good closing down of the opposition goalkeeper.

Cranbrook came back into the game and were awarded a penalty just before half-time, which they converted to make it 1-1 at the break.

The second half was end-to-end football with both teams pressing hard, Cranbrook went 2-1 ahead, then Crediton were awarded a penalty after a surperb solo run from the halfway line by Hayden Richardson-Miller.  Josh Poole scored the spot kick to make it level.

Josh Poole went close when a long range free kick which hit the cross bar. Cranbrook then scored on the break to make it 3-2.

With the game running towards full-time, Jimmy Orchard fired an equaliser into the bottom corner for Credy, to bring the score level at three each.

The game continued with the same pace through extra time and Cranbrook regained the lead to make it 4-3.

Then with just a few minutes to go a long throw-in found Josh Poole in some space out wide, who managed to cut in on goal and make it 4-4.

Crediton went onto win 3-1 on penalties, with Crediton’s goalkeeper Mark Radulescu making two fine saves.

The cup was presented to Crediton Youth after the match. George Strawson was deservedly named man of the match.
