OWING to half-term there were not too many Crediton Youth FC fixtures at the weekend.
It was another narrow defeat for the U12s as they lost out 2-1 away at Lympstone, Dexter Hughes getting their goal.
The U11s had a great start to the season as they returned from Heavitree Titans with another fine result. They fell behind to an early goal on a difficult pitch but goals from Harry Shepherd and Tom Finney saw them take the lead at half-time. Further goals from Charley Hiscock, Lennon Young and with Tom Finney completing his hat-trick in the second half saw them to a comfortable victory.
There were two big games at Lords Meadow on Sunday morning. The U15 girls hosted Paignton Villa Rockets in a game they desperately needed to win. The girls put in a tremendous performance and eventually ran out 8-0 winners. Olivia Mills led the scoring with four, Evelyn Richardson Miller with a brace and Emily Hooper and Lucy O’Connell completing the scoring. Their coaches were so impressed by the whole side’s performance.
The U13 Youth girls hosted Braunton Wanderers and had to settle for a point after leading for most of the game, with the game finishing two each, Merryn Eatherley and Mia Liebenberg White getting the home sides goals.
Away from home, the U13 Blues went down 5-0 at Axminster.
It was not to be for the U11 girls as they lost out at Culm Sampford Cats.
The U9 girls enjoyed another fine morning as they took on sides from Axminster and Feniton. Goals from Ivy Doyle, Octavia Abbot and Summer Sheppard with her first-ever goal saw them to victory over Feniton. In a tight game at Axminster they were finally edged out by the East Devon side, Maisie Avery taking the player of the day award.
