THE afternoon of Saturday, June 14 saw Crediton Youth FC hold its annual presentation event at Lords Meadow.

As usual the presentation’s were split into three sections for the juniors, seniors and girls sides.

Club Chairman Dennis Cavanagh welcomed everyone to each presentation and gave a brief run down of the previous season.

Once again it had been a very successful season for the club with many of the club sides having great successes. The club had continued to provided regular football for more than 300 local boys and girls.

The annual six a side tournament had again been a great success.

The pitch improvement project had provided a superb playing surface with many visiting sides very complimentary of the Lords Meadow pitches. Work on the off pitch project was also progressing well.

Dennis thanked all the committee, grounds team and coaches for all their hard work during the season, and all the players and parents for their support.

Every player received a participation medal for the season and individual awards were awarded to the older age groups.

Dennis presented the Chairman’s award to Steve Lethbridge for all his hard work and dedication in getting the U16 girls side through to the end of youth football and his help with the U18’s side.

Layla Broome presented the Vice Chairman’s award on behalf of her husband Allan to Martin Daniel for his overall commitment and support to the club.

The Clubman of the Year award went to Sean Hartrey for all his stirling work in keeping the U14 girls side playing this season. Also, for his outstanding work in the newly launched Wild Dogs project and his continued support of the Squad girls and Wild Cats programmes.

Simon Stevens presented the Roche Cup for the best overall achievement/contribution to the U16 girls for their excellent season, finishing in third place in a very competitive league with a very small squad.

Adrian Harvey presented Outstanding Achievement awards to Richard and Sabrena Philp for their hard work and dedication to the club.

Long Service awards were presented to Alex Crosbie, Ben Fantham, Oliver Harris and Rhys Ebdy and coach Tony Crosbie for their excellent service to the club from U7 through to U16’s.

Also receiving long service awards were Abbie Carthew, Amelia Duffin, Bella Lethbridge, Evie Greswell, Martha Brotherton and Ruby Turner who played every consecutive season for the U16 girls side.

Ben Harvey, Callum Lethbridge and Joe Gilbert received special awards for representing the club from U7 all the way through to the end of U18’s.
