ON Friday, July 1, on Crediton United Football pitch, a very special training session for Crediton Girls Youth Football was led by Ellie Curson from the Crediton Girls youth sister club, Yeovil Ladies.

The training session attracted more than 75 girls with some players attending from Barnstaple (SAS), Tiverton (Moors) and Axminster (Millwey Rise), ranging from under eight to under 15 year-olds, with the session running for an hour-and-a-half.

Sean Hartrey, organiser, from Crediton Girls Youth, said: “The girls all got to experience top-quality training with Station One led by Leah Burridge with beat ball/soccer jam, which was technical skills to music.

“Station Two was led by Tash Knapman, which all related to shooting and free kicks.

“Station Three, led by Steph Beck, included small-sided games and Station Four, with Bow Jackson, involved technical practice.

“Following the training the girls then played some mini matches and then got the chance for autographs and photographs with the players.”

Ellie Curson, captain, Yeovil Ladies, said: “We felt the event was fantastic and all the girls were a credit to all at Crediton Youth Football.”

Sean added: “The aim will be for there to be a follow up event in the summer holidays for the girls to experience a Yeovil Ladies summer camp!

“Anyone who missed the evening but would like to get involved in playing or coaching then please email for more details: [email protected] .”
