Devon Intermediate Cup - Round One

CREDITON RESERVES 7

SEATON TOWN SECONDS 0

CREDITON Reserves were back in Cup action on Saturday, September 17, following the hard-fought 12-0 league victory against Beer.

The hosts lined up 3-5-2 with first appearances of the season for Keast and Daryl Pidgeon. There were excellent chances in the opening 10 minutes with both sides having two one-on-one chances well saved.

From here on out Creddy pretty much dominated the game and creating numerous chances. Danny Harvey pulling the strings in the middle of the park and the rest of the team solid as a rock all over.

Adam Pidgeon had a field day in front of goal in terms of chances, but not in terms of goals. However he did help himself to a couple of tidy first half chances as well as goals for Chris Gibbo and Josh Badham.

With the score at 4-0 up at the break, the second half saw Creddy having to play the final 40 minutes with 10 men after Acton limped off after one minute-32 seconds of play, with the substitutes having already been used.

Seaton, to their credit, kept plugging away and almost scored a spectacular 25-yard strike, but Keast pulled out a fingertip save.

Creddy added to their tally with the semi prolific Pidgeon bagging four and Tom Jordan also notching in the onion bag.

There was still time for Seaton to miss a penalty which was blazed high and wide to leave the score at 7-0.

Tomorrow, Saturday, September 24, sees a tougher league fixture, away to Whipton and Pinhoe at the home of mid Devon football, Hamlin Lane.
