CREDITON and District Swimming Club held its annual presentation evening at the Boniface Centre following the Club Championships which had taken place over three evenings in December.

The results were calculated by using the FINA points system where each swimmer is required to swim three different strokes over three different distances plus an Individual Medley race in order to qualify for the awards. The best points are then added and positions are finalised.

A total of 58 members took part in 16 different age/gender sections.

RESULTS

Age 10 and under - Boys 1 Jamie Horwell , 2 Theo Duffin, 3 Edward Bailey; Girls 1 Mala Fawssett , 2 Etta Fawssett, 3 Beth Prosser.

Age 11 - Boys 1 Josh Cann, 2 Ben Limon, 3 Joe Manners; Girls 1 Rhianna Pincott, 2 Katherine Prosser, 3 Ella Grigg.

Age 12 - Boys 1 Jem Fawssett, 2 Sam Allman, 3 Will Bailey; Girls 1 Bryer Shears , 2 Chloe Eyles, 3 Bryony Wood.

Age 13 - Boys 1 Nathaniel Scarborough, 2 Mattie Horwell, 3 Tom Raeder; Girls 1 Josie Sanders, 2 Lucy Pincombe, 3 Sammy Bulled.

Age 14 - Boys 1 Jake Allman, 2 Andrew Millar, 3 Tom Stoyle; Girls 1 Hannah Jones, 2 Julie-Anne Hooper, 3 Lettie Cowling.

Age 15 - Boys 1 James Hudson, 2 Tom Mann; Girls 1 Miryam Ley, 2 Rebecca Mather, 3 Grace Newport-Tucker.

Age 16 - Boys 1 Daniel Mather; Girls 1 Chelsea Pincott.

Mens Seniors and Master - 1 Darren Beer (1,442), 2 Matt Hockin; Ladies Seniors and Masters 1 Emma Hockin (1,445), 2 Sara Rolle and finally Ladies Adult 1 Laura Bowyer.

The points scored by Emma Hockin were the highest of any swimmer in this years competition with Darren Beer coming second.

Special Awards were made for Boys 1,500m - 1 Jake Allman, 2 Tom Stoyle, 3 Mattie Horwell; Girls 800m 1 Julie-Anne Hooper, 2 Lucy Pincombe, 3 Josie Sanders; Lifesaving Award - Mattie Constantine; Male Swimmer of the Quarter - Josh Cann; Female Swimmer of the Quarter - Ella Grigg; Male Most Improved Swimmer - Ruaridh Lee; Female Most Improved Swimmer - Rhianna Pincott; Development Squad Swimmer of the Year - Molly Loosemore; Junior Squad Swimmer of the Year - Bryer Shears; Masters Squad Swimmer of the Year - Darren Beer; Chairman’s Award - Martin Williams.

The Trophies were presented by Club Chairman Robert Brimacombe, Club Coach Jane Brimacombe, Assistant Coach Martin Williams and Club President Peter Brewer.

A commemorative medal was awarded to every swimmer that took part in the championships and also to others who had contributed to the Club during the year.

More than 80 members and parents then enjoyed refreshments and a disco to round off a very successful evening.
