PARASPORTS in Exeter has received a substantial boost thanks to generous support from two Devon companies.

Logiq Consulting, a cyber security company based in the South West, and Newton Abbot-based Pro:Direct, have committed to support Exeter City Community Trust’s (ECCT) parasports programme participants.

The contribution from the two companies will enable ECCT, which is the partner charity of Exeter City Football Club, to develop its range of parasports and provide more coaching and playing opportunities for its participants.

The new sponsorships were announced at a special kit reveal at St James Park when all parasports participants were invited to have the photo taken in the new strip.

Danny Harris, head of services at Exeter City Community Trust, said: “We are very grateful to both organisations for their support.

“We know there is huge need for sessions such as this and as an inclusive organisation working at the heart of our community we are determined to grow and develop this area of our work to meet that need.

“Through this support we can offer better kit and equipment, additional coaching and enhanced opportunities to all of our participants.”

Parasports football sessions delivered by the organisation include:

• Adult and youth disability groups

• Down’s Syndrome youth football

• Sessions for blind players and for deaf players

• Sessions for people with Parkinson’s and Dementia

• Mental health support sessions.
