IT gives me great pleasure to write the following report for October 30.

Another one bites the 4G grass quite hard, albeit the Lapford lads were treated like skittles for the last 15 minutes of the match.

There should have been a red card, not a yellow, although a few were shown by the referee in the end.

The hosts, Millbridge Firsts (Plymouth) did have a shot on target with a penalty to go 1-0 up, before the visitors got level by half-time. In the second half it was mostly one-way traffic with three goals for Lapford on 52, 68 and 88 minutes to win by 4-1.

So bring on the next team for round four. That means this season League and Cup matches total 11 unbeaten.

Onwards and upwards to the match on Saturday, November 6, away to Beer Albion the leaders of the Premier Division, but they have dropped seven points so far against - only for Lapford who also have a game in-hand and a better goal difference.

We will see what the result is at the end of full-time.

So the Devon and Exeter Premier teams results in the Sportslighting Premier Cup, were a win for Lapford and Beer Albion and losses for Elmore Reserves, Axminster Reserves and Lentisbeare, so it is now up to Lapford and Beer Albion to fly the flag for the Devon and Exeter League.

Also for the record, Lapford have now beaten the other three teams who played for the Throgmorton Cup in 2021, all away games.

The League Premier Division results for October 30 for the two matches which took place were: University Reserves 3 Lyme Regis 1 and Dawlish Utd 1 Thorverton 3 putting Thorverton on top for now but have dropped five points from 10 matches.

My overall view on last Saturday’s game in Plymouth for me the best game.

Our supporters missed a good game by Lapford.

So there I rest my views.
