SANDFORD Football Club held its annual presentation evening in a marquee at the Rose and Crown which saw a fantastic turn out from both teams and committee members.

Suits and dresses were the order of the occasion and everybody looked very fine in their evening attire.

The awards were as follows: First Team - players’ player Rob Smith, manager’s player Aaron Carpanini, young player Jordan Gillham, goal of the season Shaun Hawkins and joint goal scorers Ryan Cartlidge and Rob Smith.

Second Team - players’ player Nathan Mew, manager’s player joint Mike Sutton and Mike Landers, young player Ben Harris, top goal scorer Mike Landers and goal of the season Mike Sutton.

There was also a host of other awards throughout the evening.

Special thanks go to Andy and Jill and all who work at the Rose and Crown for the food on the evening and the support during the playing season.

Pre-season training starts on Tuesday, July 19 at 6.30pm and once again will be led by Aaron Carpanini who led the training last season and all the sessions were very successful.

Sandford has two teams who play in Division Four and Eight of the Devon and Exeter League.

The First team gained promotion last season after winning all their last 13 games.

Both teams had an influx of young players throughout the season and they have settled in very well, so all are welcome to the small friendly club, young and old.

Pre-season friendly games have now been arranged so there is a lot to look forward to.
