COLYTON 2 - SPREYTON 3

SATURDAY, February 24 saw Spreyton FC’s first game back since the Kentisbeare defeat on January 6.

Spreyton bounced back with a hard fought win against a tough Colyton side.

In a tight first half, Spreyton made the breakthrough as Cam Pow chased a loose ball from the ‘keeper and stroked the ball into an empty net.

Colyton had a flurry of corners before the referee blew his whistle for half-time.

It was the perfect start to the second half as Chris Down made a great run, latching on to the through ball and lobbed the ball clinically over the advancing ‘keeper.

The celebrations as the ball hit the net showed how much the goal meant. Minutes later Chris Down added a crucial second for Spreyton.

Liam Ward was replaced by Brad Lovatt due to injury and Brad shored up the midfield.

A late goal added some nerves but Spreyton held on for a fine away win.

Man of the match for Spreyton was Keohan King.
