WHAT a very good Saturday for the Lapford team and all of our supporters who made the trip to Beer, from me to you all, many thanks as another one bites the grass.

It was a hard match but Lapford can keep their shape and play for 90 minutes plus, if needed.

A Devon FA match assessor was in attendance and Lapford scored their first goal on 18 minutes to go in front at half-time 1-0.

After half-time Beer, on 61 minutes, scored to go level. After Beer missed a penalty Lapford scored straight away on 74 minutes to lead 2-1 and to full-time. Well done lads I did enjoy that win, it made my day complete.

Their goalkeeper should have been sent off for handling the ball outside the goal area which the referee, after the match, admitted he got it wrong as did the match official. So there are my thoughts on the game.

Tomorrow (Saturday, November 13) Lapford are at home to Elmore Reserves with a 2.15pm kick-off.

A start of a number of home games with the big Premier Devon Cup at home to Barnstaple Reserves in the fourth round on December 4, at 2pm.

Home games are as follows: November 13 Elmore Res, November 20 Dawlish United, November 27 Axminster Reserves.

The other league results for November 6 were: Colyton 4 Axminster Reserves 0, Lyme Regis v Ottery St Mary - no result, Thorverton 7 Dawlish 0, University Reserves 7 Okehampton Reserves 0, Sidmouth Reserves 0 Kentisbeare 8.

As of November 6 the Premier Division positions top three: Thorverton First (P11- 28pts), Lapford second (P10-26 pts) and third Beer Albion (P11-24pts) So as always from me it’s onwards and upwards and good luck to all.
