THE angling season has now ended but just before it did Tiverton angler Shaun Hurrell landed a 24lbs common at Creedy Lakes.

His scale perfect catch was one of three fish, all tempted whilst fishing three quarters of the way up on the right bank.

Best bag of nine fish was recorded by Vince Conibere. Catches were topped by a great brace of commons which scaled 21lbs 8oz and 20lbs 4oz.

His other fish included doubles of 18lbs 2oz, 17lbs 4oz, 15lbs 2oz, 14lbs 4oz, 13lbs 8oz, 11lbs 10oz and one single figure common.

Martin Cull from Exeter also recorded a very exciting day, on his second trip to Creedy Lakes.

He banked a grand total of five fish and these catches included three new personal bests as they just got bigger as the session wore on. Topping his bag was a 16lbs, 15lbs, 14lbs, 12lbs and a small single figure.

Neil Brines of Bridgwater chose to fish the far bank and was pleased with his catch, a well proportioned common which scaled 20lbs exactly. Shaun Hurrell of Exeter hooked and landed three commons whilst Mark Downing, also from Exeter, had a very similar result when he fished adjacent to the boathouse and hooked three carp, best of 16lbs in weight.

Umberleigh angler Dave Morrish tempted out three fish whilst fishing the first swim on the right bank with his best on the day scaling 17lbs.

Other catches included Gary Hurrell with one mid double figure common scaling 15lbs.

Junior angler Joe Slater tempted out two common carp just recently which weighed 7lbs and 11lbs. Bridgwater angler Callum Winnall reported a common of 13lbs and Exeter angler Steve Holdsworth hooked one 13lbs common carp.

Sandra Turner of Creedy Lakes said she would just like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, adding a very big thank you to all the anglers for their continued custom and wished them a very productive 2016.
