THERE were plenty of exciting fixtures at Lords Meadow on the morning of Saturday, April 22 for Crediton Youth FC sides.

The U16s hosted title chasing Broadclyst Youth and caused a major upset by beating their guests 2-1.

Broadclyst definitely edged the first half and should have gone in at half-time with more than one goal in front.

The second half saw a pulsating game of football with the Crediton lads really upping their game.

A Ben Harvey goal drew the sides level and Louis Garnsworthy put the home side in front to give an exciting end to the game.

Some resolute defending and some fine saves by the Crediton keeper Seth Hopkins saw them gain a huge win.

It was a big game for the U14s who entertained Heavitree United Youth, as two of the sides chasing the runners-up spot went head-to-head.

Goals from Charlie Turney, Ollie Baker and Zach Mildon saw them pick up another three valuable points.

Another exciting game saw the U12s take on fellow title chasers Moors Youth.

It was a close affair and although the home side edged out their rivals 3-2, it is the Tiverton side who have the advantage in the title race.

Dan Cavanagh scored two goals and Louis Matthews grabbed the other.

Again, the U11s had another rather one-sided affair as they took on Teignmouth. Amongst the Crediton goal scorers were Casey Philp, Daniel Southall, Jayden Saunders, Josh Stansfield, and Oliver Brimilcombe.

The U9s hosted sides from Alphington and Whipton. Two wins and two defeats for them.

Away from home the U15s were at Sidmouth.

They had to settle for one point as they finished one apiece. Alex Dredge scored Crediton’s goal.

The U13s were at Stoke Hill. They returned with a 4-1 result, courtesy of goals from Alfie Williams Greenwood, Fletcher Clark and two from Seb Roche, to keep their title push alive.

They also had a midweek victory over Heavitree Pumas, with Seb Roche getting a hat-trick and Jake Stagg was also on target.

It was two wins and two defeats for the U10s as they travelled to take on sides from North Tawton and Winkleigh.

Sunday (April 23) saw the U12 girls away at Central Youth Wildcats and after a close game they eventually ran out 4-3 winners with goals from Eva, Gracie Clements, Gracie Pugsley and Lexi Mullen Penney.

It was an entertaining game at Exmouth Town for the U18s, which saw the home side eventually run out 7-4 winners.
