CREDITON Tae Kwon do TAGB is celebrating a double success, with Mika Davis who has successfully passed his black belt grading and Luke Clifton his third star.

Mika Davis (13) travelled up to Bristol Academy to show his skills as a Martial Artist and did a sterling job. This is a rather nerve-wracking experience but Mika held his nerve and showed the panel of Masters why he deserved to be a black belt.

Ian Bazley, 4th Dan, who runs the Crediton group said: "I am rather proud of that decision as most youngsters of Mika's age would have given up. He has shown what it takes to be a black belt. Well done."

Luke Clifton took his Third Star grading at Bristol Academy in front of a different panel to Mika. He was examined by a panel of 4th degree Black Belts and above.

Luke had to demonstrate his knowledge of Tae Kwon do and also undertake a power test on a computer-linked pad, which registered the power of his foot and hand technique.

The Star gradings are put in place for Juniors who are too young to gain their Second Dan.

Well done to Luke and hopefully this year he will be going for his Second Dan grading at the Academy.

Anyone who would like to have a go at Tai Kwon do, the group is offering a months free trial and is also supporting and taking part in the Crediton Festival.

The group is running a series of workshops at Hayward's Primary School every Tuesday evening until July 7 and all are welcome.
