KIRTON and District Ladies Darts League finals night was held at Newton St Cyres Rec on May 17.

The Committee made the decision to change the name of the Winners Trophy to The Joan Grant League Winners Trophy, in honour of Joan who sadly passed away this season.

Joan was one of the founding members and was on the Committee for around 30 years.

Thanks as always goes to the committee, to Dan James (former goalie for the English Blind Football team) who was the MC for the evening, June Bilcock and Pip Johnson who handed out the trophies, and to Gary Grant who handed the Joan Grant Grant League Winners Trophy to the winners of the league, Club Crediton ’A’ team, who won for the second year running.

Thanks also go to Tony Lewis and Ian Harris at Newton Rec for hosting the venue, Christine Whitehead and Wendy Lewis for supplying the food, and the callers and markers throughout the evening.

The 2020-2021 season will mark the 50th year that the League has been playing. This year’s AGM will be held on July 3.
