NOVEMBER was another busy month for Queens Badminton Club in Crediton which saw both juniors and adults competing in a variety of events.
Queens juniors Under 13s and Under 17s teams competed in the East Devon League match at Chulmleigh coming away with a substantial win. Adult leagues are well-underway with several juniors joining the ranks.
Queens head coach Sarah Preece, welsh junior international Learna Herkes and former club captain’s Amy Housley and Lloyd Skinner all journeyed to Wales to compete in the Welsh International.
Amy and her partner succeeded in getting through to the last 16 in the women’s doubles, a great achievement at her first international tournament.
The end of the month saw many Queens players competing in the Devon Bronze tournaments for Under 13s, Under 15s, Under 17s and Under 19s.
Congratulations go to Rhianna Beel who scooped Gold in the Under 13s and Under 15s singles. There were medals too for Toby Brookes (Under 17s), Grace Lee (Under 17s), Hayden Herkes (Under 15s) and Learna Herkes (Under 19s).
To finish off the year the club will be celebrating at its annual 24-hour event, this year with a Hawaiian theme with coaching, parent/child matches, games competitions, fancy dress and a spot of Bollywood dancing until the early hours!
