AFTER an extended Christmas break, most Crediton Youth FC sides were looking forward to returning to action last weekend.

Unfortunately, heavy rain on Friday night saw all of Saturday, January 8 cup and plate fixtures get postponed.

Things were a little better on Sunday, as the Under 12 and 14 girls returned to action.

The U14s hosted Moors Youth and a tight game ended one apiece, with Chloe Curtis getting the home side’s goal.

It was a similar story for the U12s away at Stoke Hill.

They had to settle for a point following a 3-3 draw. Lexi Mullen with a double and Gracie Pugsley getting their goals.

The U10 development side had a home game against their Whipton Youth counterparts. Again, their coaches were very impressed by their performance.

Despite leading for most of the game, courtesy of two Jenson Langabeer goals, they slipped to a 4-2 defeat in the later stages.

Hopefully, the weather will improve for this weekend to allow for all the rearranged cup and plates fixtures to go ahead.
