LOCAL sporting star Dee Weiner recently went to the National Dwarf Sports Games in Walsall, West Midlands (April 29 to May 2) to take part in lots of different sports.

Dee, from Crediton, explained: “I have a Rare Chromosome Deletion, which means I have learning difficulties and short stature and other things too.

“I classify for both DSAuk and the special Olympics.

“I took part in the athletics and feel very happy and impressed with myself for coming away with two silver medals in the 100 metre sprint and the 60 metre sprint.

“I have such a great time when I compete and do sports, it makes me so happy.”
