THE all new Crediton Learning Community Primary Sports Partnership launched on Wednesday, October 18 at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton with a Gymnastics Festival.

More than 200 Year Three and Four students from local primary schools, Landscore, Yeoford, Cheriton Bishop, Tedburn, Bow, and Sandford took part.

Fifty of QE’s Year Nine students hosted the event, leading a series of different activities.

The Year Nine students are part of QE’s Sports Leadership Programme. The workshops they ran taught new skills to the Year Three and Four students such as rolling, travelling, balancing and flight.

Mr Gillon, a PE teacher at QE said: “Our Year Nine students did a brilliant job in leading and coaching the Year Three and Four pupils. They were supportive, professional and entertaining, giving our visitors a great experience. Our primary school students picked up new skills really well and the event was a great success!”

The Gymnastic Festival was the first event in a series of six, the next event will be QE’s Tag Rugby Festival which will be held on November 22.
