CLUB FRIENDLIES
SATURDAY, September 28 – seven mixed rinks v Feniton – away – Crediton
ended their bowling season with an 11 shots victory away at Feniton: M Theedom lost 18-21, R Grant lost 17-19, P Martin won 20-17, M Haywood lost 15-17, T Richards won 22-13, T Chamberlain won 20-17 and C Fribbens won 20-17. Crediton won by 132-121 shots.
MEN'S CLUB FINALS
Two Woods and Bill Bale Non-Cup Winners - Monday September 23 – Roy Andrews won his way through to Four Club Cup
finals this season. He lost the first one, the Three Woods, to Robin Scott by 21-16. The second one, the Handicap final, he lost to Shane Boddy by 26-19 shots . However, his losing run came to and end when he defeated Chris Bond by 21-11 shots in the final of the Two Woods and Nick Cann by 21-14 shots in the Bill Bale Cup.
The finals were organised by Dorothy Richards, men's competition secretary.
The Two Woods match was "marked" by Tom Richards and the Bill Bale Non-Cup Winners by Eric Flower.
LADIES' LEAGUE
CHAMPION
Crediton ladies' Team Green are the new champions of the Exeter and District Over 55's First Division.
Crediton were not successful in any other leagues.
CLUB TOUR
Following the success of this year's tour to the Oxford area, Crediton will tour South Wales next August where they will be based at Ewenny, near Bridgend.
CLUB BOWLS DRIVE AND BARBECUE
Dorothy Richards organised a club closing day Bowls Drive which was won by Steve Wollacott, Edward Staite, Susan Grigg, Ron Joslin and Gordon Bunch.
Runners-up were Terry Chamberlain, Roy Arnold, Sheila Forster and Arthur Turner.
This was followed an excellent barbecue which was prepared and cooked by Eric and Jane Flower, Peter and Natalie Milford and Nick and Beverly Cann.
