MEMBERS of the Crediton and Copplestone PUMA Taekwon-Do and Little PUMA attended the recent PUMA Southern Championships held in Plymouth.

Dave and a squad of 26 Taekwon-Do and Little PUMA members from the local Schools run by instructor, Dave Powlesland, at Newton St Cyres, Copplestone and Crediton, attended the event with more than 350 competitors from across the South West taking part. 

The local squad managed to come away with a massive haul of 37 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, which Dave described as an “awesome result for the group and all the individuals involved”.

A parent of one of those who took part, said: "I am so proud of everyone who took part.

“Dave and his helpers are so supportive to everyone who trains. They give each other so much encouragement to do and try their best in Little PUMAs and Taekwon-Do.

“Ever since we have been training, Dave and everyone has made us feel so welcome and helped us. We have made so many new friends.”

Dave said: “We had a great day at the event and to see so many of the team do so well was just brilliant. I am very proud to be part of a group that has such great dedicated and motivated members!"

Dave runs Little PUMA sessions for four-to-six-year-olds at Crediton and Copplestone on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings plus Sunday mornings.

His Taekwon-Do classes are at Copplestone, Crediton and Newton St Cyres on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings plus Sunday mornings.
